2017 League Rules

Gentlemen:

The match formats are as follows.  The possible choices are: team play, with the format being Best Ball, or Best Ball- Best Ball or Best Ball – Best Ball tie breaker or Best Ball – Total or individual match play.  The lower team in the standings (at the point of equal matches played) will have the option of selecting format or venue. The team selecting venue must inform the opposing team of its selection 3 days in advance.   In the case of the selection of match play the selecting team will also select the matchups.  The team matches will be worth 8 points.   The points will awarded as follows: 2 points for the winner of the front nine, 2 points for the winner of the back nine, 2 points for the winner of the eighteen and a 2 point press for the eighteen.  Halves on any phase will award one point to each team.  If the match is won on the eighteenth hole then the press points are awarded to the winner.  In other words, there is always 8 points in play.  **With regards to the Best Ball- Best Ball format; the team that gets the most points for each phase (front nine, back nine and eighteen) wins the phase and the associated match points; such as win the front nine get 2 points, etc.    Our championship matches will be mano y mano, and each match will be worth a total of 8 points, 2 points front nine, 2 points back nine, 2 points eighteen and 2 points press. The teams should flip a coin for the initial choice of venue or format.

Also, since this is team play we will allow only one match cancelation within 1 week of a schedule match.  If a teammate can not play then the other will play the other team in a BEST BALL format.

Replacement Players:

If a player is injured and can no longer play then the other member must find a permanent replacement with an established handicap.

If a player is injured during the match and can not play; then the balance of the match will be play by the remaining player against the other team.  The match format will be changed to Best Ball and the previous holes that were played will be re-scored on a best ball format.
